The transition to motherhood can be both deeply joyful and also very tough.

That's why having a space to meet both yourself and other mothers is so important. Thats what For Modern Mothers is here to help you with. There are classes and courses are here to help you have some time and space for yourself and with your baby. As well as meet and connect with other new mothers and find that vital support network we really need.

I also offer services to help mothers cope with difficult births, or time around birth, with my birth listening and reflecting service, and with the Three Step Rewind technique to help relieve birth or any perinatal trauma.

 

 Baby massage

“Touch is the simplest and most effective way to communicate to babies they are loved, respected, secure and cared for.”

Being massaged helps babies relax and cope better with stress, improves their muscular coordination and flexibility, improves circulatory and respiratory rhythms, as well as helping to relieve symptoms such as colic, constipation and improve digestion. It also helps you as a parent to learn useful techniques to help calm and relax your baby,  create a deep connection to your baby and helps with bonding, and helps you to feel more confident with your baby too. It’s all good. 

Baby Massage courses run throughout the year.

 

 Mum & Baby Yoga

A wonderful practice and a great way to heal, strengthen and nurture yourself without needing a babysitter. This is yoga to helps you to reconnect with your body, find some calm and stillness in this exciting but exhausting time, and also have time to really nourish and replenish yourself as a new mother - which is so very important

Mum & Baby Yoga is the perfect antidote to the physical and mental stresses of motherhood in the first year. We work both on strengthening your body after pregnancy (including pelvic floor), as well as easing out tension and having time and techniques to relax tired minds too.

My brand new IN PERSON workshop to help you navigate your unique transition back to work after maternity leave. Heading back to work after maternity leave can feel like straddling two worlds. That constant push-pull between the mother and the woman. This workshop is to help you navigate this discombobulating time with strength and confidence and less of the ‘mum guilt’.

Providing a whole range of practical tools and techniques to support you, full of inspiration and insights, and all done in a supportive and nurturing way that addresses real modern motherhood. Join me and a small group of other like-minded mothers . It’s a powerful and much needed time and space for you to work out your return to work in the most positive and empowering way.

 

Birth Trauma Support

I offer support for women after difficult fertility, birth or postnatal experiences with birth listening, reflecting, with a specialist trauma release technique, and I am also a birth injury recovery practitioner too.

I am passionate about perinatal wellbeing, and having undergone specialist training in birth listening, reflecting and the 3 Step Rewind technique that can help bring relief to parents after a difficult or traumatic fertility, birth or postnatal experience.

 Creative Space For Mothers - weekly class

 Having a ‘creative escape’ as a Mother is a fun and uplifting thing to do. These pop up relaxed sessions have so many benefits - you do something for yourself that helps you feel good, supports wellbeing, helps you take a bigger picture view of motherhood, brings people together in a friendly, welcoming and supportive space, boosts confidence, provides a creative outlet. Join me for these fun, relaxed sessions. No creative ability required - if you can hold a pencil you can really benefit from these events. For all mothers and mothers-to-be.  Postnatal Doula

Help and support to lighten the load anytime after your baby is born. I offer emotional, practical and compassionate support to you and your baby as your find your feet and ride the waves of motherhood. Anything from breastfeeding, to understanding your baby better, to making food, to recovering physically and emotionally after pregnancy and birth. Always with lots of listening and kindness. Helping you to navigate the often difficult transition to motherhood (known as Matrescence) with more calmness and ease, to feel more empowered and understand it all better.
